I am a Mom to two amazing teenagers. I have a wonderful husband who happens to also be my best friend. My body is not magazine perfect. It has wrinkles, cellulite and stretch marks. Badges of honour. My life experiences have made me who I am today, and I have given life which has given new meaning to mine.
I live a life of minimalism and simplicity at a level that works for me. I am constantly looking for small ways to help our planet. I’ve discovered that the less clutter in my life, the more time and money (and brain power) I have left for more valuable things, like FAMILY and LIFE. If it brings me joy.. it’s a keeper… if not.. it’s a goner.
I strive for health in all aspects: physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, etc. This, for me, is a matter of authenticity and simplicity. Finding who I am at this moment, today, and being true to that. The simplicity part is as mentioned above but also the little things that bring me joy. A child running to me for a hug (I work at a daycare). A smile from a stranger when I am feeling overwhelmed or having an off day. My husband making a funny face when he is annoyed. You know? Little things. Oh also.. give me a Kit Kat and I am VERY happy. The little things make a big difference 🙂
At the moment I an investing a lot of time in becoming a Level 4 Essentrics Instructor. I believe in this program with my whole heart and feel it in my whole body. This journey started in summer 2017, when I realized, within myself, all the benefits I was getting from following Essentrics TV for only 20min every other day. My wish is that I had discovered this sooner. My vision is to share with others how physical health can feel good and not feel like a “work”out.
Although I am an introvert … I love getting to know people, the authentic person, not the mask. Yet after spending a few hours surrounded by a lot of people, I need a good book or a crochet project to recharge by batteries. Cats and horses are my friends. ( I know, I kind of randomly inserted the animal info 😀 )
I hope this gives you a better idea of who I am. Of what kind of person I am 😉
Let’s get to know each other. Let’s uplift each other. We all have ups and downs. You are not alone.
Yours in health, Nancy Shimmy
